CASE STUDY
LEADERSHIP FROM THE GROUND UP
Tony is a new executive vice president of a fast-growing and profitable agricultural supply company. He reached out to Anna to learn more about how her tracks could help him reach a formidable new goal. His company had already used the Predictive Index for hiring with good results. Now Tony wanted to build a leadership team from the ground up and he knew he needed resources beyond PI.
CREATING A COHESIVE TEAM
Tony is skilled at identifying leaders. He spent time getting to know the team and hand-picked eight individuals who embodied the company’s mission. They were all self-starters and were excited about their future at the company. Even though they all were currently managing different departments, they were new to leadership. That’s when Tony called Anna.
TRAINING FUTURE LEADERS
Tony and Anna got to work on a plan. Anna designed a customized training series for the first year to teach leadership skills to the team. Together, the new leaders engaged in workshops on improving communication, building trust, giving feedback, delivering performance reviews, strategic planning, and more. The second year, the team began taking more action on their own, putting into practice the skills they were learning. To maintain progress, Anna provided one-on-one coaching to several of the leaders, reinforcing their confidence in their decision-making and execution.
Naturally, the new leadership team has experienced challenges along the way. But working with Anna has taught them to be prepared for change and difficult moments. As a result, the team Tony set out to build is demonstrating resilience and ownership over solutions that benefit the entire organization.
